Elena’s First T-shirt

My beautiful and very talented little sister Elena got some fun knit that she wanted  make into a t-shirt. She came over for an afternoon last Saturday and we drafted her a pattern using my perfect fitted t-shirt pattern tutorial. I was A) super impressed with her mad-sewing skills! She’s only 13 but has already designed and made several really cute additions to her wardrobe, and 2) I was so pleased to see how well the pattern worked out! I realized as we were making it, that I  had left out a couple important measuring steps. So although nobody seemed to notice yet, I’m letting ya’ll know that they are now there.  So FYI, and happy sewing and all that jazz.

And LJ, I loved sewing with you–I had tons of fun and can’t wait to see what else you do, you ridiculously talented girl!DSC02373 384x512 Elenas First T shirt

p.s. Not to mention THANK YOU Mim, for your inspiring example to your younger sisters in creativity and “can do” mentality. They have many directions to look for this, don’t they? Thanks for the gifts you share with us all.

    Elena!!

SOOOOOOOOOO cute!!! GREAT job! I am excited to use Mim’s t-shirt tutorial, and in fact, in my head, the other day, I looked it up on line, and made myself a shirt. What fantasies I have.

Elena is SO BEAUTIFUL. I seriously have not seen her since she was a toddler. WOW. Good job with that cute shirt, too!

I am impressed and jealous! It looks great!! I haven’t attempted sewing for years, and would love a sewing machine for Christmas. My husband doesn’t seem to believe I’d really use it :-)

That is such a whimsical pattern she chose for the shirt fabric. How creative!
