Fabric Earrings from Spain!

On Tuesday, my little bro Peter came home from a 6 week jaunt in Europe with a backpack full of treasures and a remarkable beard. I was thrilled about both! He picked up these fabric earrings for me which I adore for the following reasons:

-They are reversible of sorts! They have beautiful patterns on both sides, and either side is totally different from the other.

-They are not just cool patterned fabric, each color in the pattern is a separate piece of colored fabric SEWN in place, making up the whole design. Holy cow, that detail!!!

-They are soft and angular at the same time! Something that makes my type 3-self rejoice!

I wish I could pull off statement earrings like you do. Sadly, my body rejects any type of earrings since my first pregnancy (weird, eh?) So, I’m a clip on girl…or rather, a bare ear girl:)

That IS weird. I actually didn’t get my ears pierced until a couple years ago, so I guess I just go crazy with colors etc because I’m making up for lost time..!

Hey Miriam, These are absolutely beautiful. The fabric you used, eventhough it was purchased in Europe was made in Panama. It is called a Mola and it comes from the Kuna indians. They live in a small chain of islands in the north-east side of the country in the Caribbean.

Thanks Marrissa, I’m so glad to know! You can tell by looking at them, that whoever made them was definitely a talented artisan. It’s great to know that whereabouts they come from!
